Master's Degree Program Admission Requirements for MINT

Admission requirements for MINT are similar to those of all course-based Master's degree (MSc) programs at the University of Alberta. UofA requirements include:

  • A minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4 point scale or equivalent in the last two years of previous relevant studies.
  • For foreign students, a TOEFL score in excess of 600.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computing Science, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or in a related field in Science or Engineering with some relevant experience. Industry experience is considered when reviewing applications of students close to these boundaries.

Your home department will be either the Faculty of Science or the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, depending on your previous degree.

Successful Completion of your MINT Two-Year Education

Based at the University of Alberta campus, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, MINT students must complete 30 credits in communications, advanced management and analysis techniques, along with a special lab course and a capstone project course.

The Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research will award a Master of Science in Internetworking degree upon completion of the program. The MINT Master's degree is a fully accredited graduate degree.

Application Deadlines for the University of Alberta MINT Program:

  • April 1 annually(Chinese and Nigerian students)
  • May 1 annually (Canadian and International students)

Master of Science in Internetworking Fees

Tuition for the MINT program includes a $3500 non-refundable program fee. Each course costs $1750 with the total for nine courses being $19,250. Students are also required to pay a $1000 refundable deposit for the lab course to recover damaged or lost equipment and cables. You can find a more detailed summary of the program fees here.

Scholarships and Financial Assistance

There are currently no scholarships, TA or RA positions associated with the Master of Science in Internetworking graduate degree program.
