Master of Science in Internetworking – Full-Time Format
Students often inquire about the possibility of full-time status at the University of Alberta, either for student loan or visa purposes. To discuss this option, contact the Program Director.
To qualify for full-time attendance, students must be enrolled in three courses per term. For MINT students, the requirement is one additional regular weekday course in Terms 1, 2, and 4. This additional course is chosen from regular undergraduate or graduate listings in the UofA calendar.
One extra course per term provides an opportunity to strengthen your background in mathematics or programming, both of which are fundamental to the MINT program, enhance your knowledge in a particular area of Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or simply pursue a personal interest such as a second or third language. The course schedule for full-time study would be:
- Term 1 (Fall) - MINT 700 and 702, plus one extra course
- Term 2 (Winter) - MINT 704 and 706, plus one extra course
- Term 3 (Spring) - MINT 708
- Term 4 (Fall) - Two MINT options, plus one extra course
- Term 5 (Winter) - MINT 709 plus final MINT option
Please note that MINT 709 has the weight of two regular courses. Approval of the project proposal is required before students are allowed to register in this course.
Whether part-time or full-time suits your situation and interests, attending the MINT accredited graduate degree program at the University of Alberta, a top-ranked Canadian university, will take your career to a new level and reap professional and financial rewards.
